Leadership and our Presidential Cabinet This week we have examined what each member of the Cabinet's job is. We have compiled our own Cabinet based on the jobs of each member. We have used our research and critical thinking skills to hone in on the best personal choices for each position.
We have also begun to examine the electoral college and the workings of the process of the election. This is going to be important to understand as we are rapidly approaching Election Day.

We are continuing our examination of leadership and the election. This week we have explored the qualities that make a good leader. We have described these attributes in detail. GATE students created campaign posters for fictional characters (or made up names). These posters included slogans and a description of all of the great qualities this "leader" possessed. We have had a great week in GATE! Masters of Colorku! Fourth Grade Socratic Circle in action
Leadership and the Election We have begun our first Concept-Based Unit in GATE this week. We are doing a study about leadership, influence, responsibility, and the election. Our unit was introduced with some "Politically Important Images." We enjoyed testing our existing knowledge in this area and discovered we have much to learn about historically significant political figures.
This week we focused on leadership, responsibility, and integrity. We researched these concepts and used our Communication Talent to use many, varied, single words to describe one of the focus terms. We had a great discussion about integrity and when our conscience influences our decisions. This is going to be a great unit! |
